Darfur Development and Reconstruction Agency (DRA) has been established and formally registered at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC) in July 2007. DRA is a nonprofit-making organization with aims to reduce poverty and human suffering in the Sudan. DRA also strives to implement right-informed and partner-expressed interventions that take note of partner priorities and are believed as No-harm doing interventions.

DRA is formed and based on the understanding that Civil Society Organisations are well placed at the moment to participate and provide both humanitarian and development assistance to people victims of Natural and man-made disasters

Who We Work With:

 DRA works with communities experience and live under conditions considered as abnormal by humanitarian, development and welfare standards. Communities live in areas under conflicts, structural food insecurity, and people live in high proneness-to-natural disaster areas constitute bulk of people we work with. Urban poor, conflict-affected (Internally Displaced peoples - IDPs – living in camps – or those still live in their traditional areas), transhumance, pastoralists and other vulnerable groups (women, children, the disabled, youth, elderly etc) rank high in the orgnisation’s attention  and priority work list.

Also, DRA works in partnership and collaboration with a variety of government institutions, UN agencies, INGOs, SCOs, CBOs and NGOs. In this way, DRA has a wide range of network in order to maximise coordination, attain effectiveness and ensure participation...
